welcome
Welcome to the website of 1st tadworth sea scouts

On Saturday 9th July, Tadworth Beavers joined the rest of the Banstead District at Park Farm for a Fun Day and Sleepover.  Most of the Colony attended the fun day and 12 boys braved a night in the Barn for their first experience of a night away. During the day the Beavers built a silver totem pole to mark the 25th Anniversary of Beaver Scouting, this was an inter colony competition and the Colony judged to have built the best won the District Cup. TADWORTH WON!!!!!

There were many other activities to occupy the Beavers during the day, including climbing, archery, panning for silver, decorating party bags, Lego construction, rocket launching, and other craft bases. After lunch there was a round robin sports challenge, where the Beavers were put into teams and had to gain points by completing various sporting challenges as a team. There was also a quiz running throughout the day for each Colony to answer 25 questions, the Beavers from Tadworth, actually managed to answer all but 4 correctly!!!!  It was then time for the Beavers that were not staying the night to go home.

The Beavers completed a scavenger hunt for 25 different articles before embarking on a woodland walk in Banstead Woods before dinner.  Then it was all hands on deck to fit 65 boys into the long barn at Park Farm for the sleepover. It was a bit of a squeeze but everyone enjoyed the experience, and after the camp fire and hot chocolate it was time for bed. Sunday morning was yet another challenge, as breakfast eaten it was time for a mass teeth cleaning session before packing up belongings and going home,

very tired but happy!

We would like to thank all the leaders and helpers that made this event possible, but especially our two brave Mums who volunteered to sleep over with the Colony.

The cubs have just returned from a great but tiring summer camp at Bentley copse scout campsite in Shere. The cubs arrived on Monday and immediately started the activities with archery and rifle shooting with a long night hike after dinner. Throughout the rest of the week the cubs took part in fire lighting, backwoods cooking, go karting, climbing, shelter building, craft, wide games and much much more!!

The cubs all learnt and developed a lot over the week as did the leaders and a great and fun time was had by all.

Six of the camp – Golden Hind (Blue six)

Cub of the camp – James

Sixer of the camp – Massimo

Most helpful cub – Christopher

Congratulations to everyone who came and thank you to the leaders to all help and support over the week we can’t wait for next camp and the beginning of the term in September!

Tadworth Cubs joined 150 other 8 to 11 year olds from around Banstead District for the first ever camping event at Chessington World of Adventures Resort and what an adventure it was! The Cubs arrived early on Saturday morning to find the campsite setup under the glaring eyes of the KOBRA ride before setting off for a great day on the rides and visiting the animals. In the evening the cubs got a tour of the Wanyama Reserve from the Zoo Keepers and had all you can eat in the Pizza and Pasta restaurant, after which the Cubs took part in a short sing song and then headed to bed

On Sunday the Cubs woke up to the chirping of our next door neighbours - the lorikeets, ready for another day in the park with early access to the rides in Wild Asia after breakfast

A great time was had by all of the Cubs and leaders and a huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the weekend possible

Sorry there are no Photos at the moment i will update everyone as soon as i recieve them
